The force of nature - 2006-08-16
I've just experienced one of the coolest things I've ever experienced.
It all started with me sitting in front of my computer when I suddenly noticed some cool cloud formation over a red sky. So I went out to take some pictures.
The cloud formations changed all the time, as did the color on the sky since earth changed position relative to the sun and I was more amazed each minute, something inside me made me move forward... further and further away till I stood in the middle of a large field.
The spectacular sky acting peaked for a few minutes and then slowly disappeared behind the large blue clouds. I now knew for certain the weather was going to change but I didn't realize how fast. I watched the clouds grow darker and darker as I stood there. The typical action in my place would be to go home but I didn't, I was so aroused by all this that I couldn't do anything else than stand there and feel the weather.
Silence... Just me and the faint voices of nature could be heard. I felt the wind increasing. Suddenly I heard something from behind the trees... And to the right, it felt like I was surrounded by the sound. The sound of rain closing in on me. For minutes I listened as the rain came closer, distant lands started to fade in gray and the sound became more and more intense.
Then a gray layer seemed to block the forrest maybe 500 meters in front of me. In mere seconds the rain washed over me. I should have run, if not for me then for the camera, but instead I just stood there for 10 maybe 15 seconds and let it happen.
