People in a dreamworld - 2007-04-22
I've noticed that people, at least here in sweden often except other to fix things for them, it's like they think it's someone else's responsibility to make their life worthwhile.
Society?
People actually rely on this, if they want something they you whine and whine and whine. Instead of doing something about it.
Some people might consider them selves to be the left type, socialism or whatever. Doesn't matter.
My problem with the left-type is their reliance of the government and others. If someone for example is poor it seems to be others responsibility. It isn't. We live in sweden, what excuse people have? There always are shitty jobs people can take if they need money.
When I was in 9th grade people told me Media wasn't a very good education since the market wouldn't offer enough jobs. I didn't care and did the Media thing.
In the Gymnasium (Media, Graphical Communication) people told me that I had to study things like "history" and then study more when I finished the gymnasium. Instead I choose more media-related courser over History, math and such and instead of studying I developed web pages on my free time. When I had done the Gymnasium thing I choose to trash the "you must study more now catalogs" which had been given to me and planned to start my own business.
One day I read an article about Pixel Palace at macnytt.se and their website wasn't that good so I mailed them and offered to make a better one, why did they accept this? Cuz I had good grades in graphic/web-related courses? No because I had built other websites I could show them.
Now why do I ramble about this? Because people are complaining about jobs, they are complaining that their education doesn't give them the jobs they want. Well wake up! It's not and I repeat not the government or the schools responsibility to give you job, it's yours. You can't just except everything to be served on your dinner table. I didn't rely on school, in fact I didn't pay much attention to it at all, I used my time to learn what I wanted to learn and what I would like to work with when I got older and it was that which gave me the ability to make a living out of creating websites. Not school.
So take a fucking hold of your selves and do what you want instead of waiting for others to server it on your dinner table.
Hmm I might sound a bit angry now, I probably am... a bit...
