Life - 2007-03-07

We go through our lives seeking to achieve what we supposedly know is our goal.

I wonder, how do people exercise their inner journeys? Do they exercise them at all? I'm speaking of a state of mind where you examine your values and your self, what do you do? are you following the right path? Have you even figures out which path is right for you?

These questions are probably questions everyone asks, it's relatively simple to ask the questions but it's a lot harder answering them. You know there aren't straight answers either, but there are different level of insight. I strive to gain insight and to know my path, by saying that I am by no means implying that I'm an insecure person who doesn't know what to do in life, on the contrary, I have my path figured out for the time being. Well, at least some paths but you can seldom summarize life into one path.

You need to make inner journeys to figure these things out, and the only thing you need to make these inner journeys is peace in your mind. Of course meditation or psychedelics helps (or so I've heard.) but what you really need is to give your self time to process things when your mind needs it.

You can't just sit on a chair and expect enlightenment in the subjects in which you're lost, to my experience these things sort of happens but when they do, you should let it happen. This night was such a night, as where the night before and even I got work to do I allowed my self to think and travel.

Enlightenment is hard, but as you say, you're a lot more likely to come closer to it if you try to focus on it every once in a while - or whenever you can.
